Mapping a network drive in a batch script
For this purpose, we will see three formats of the same command. However, the general format of the command is:
net use P: "\\server\folder\file"
You can choose any of them according to your needs.
Only use net use to map network drives
For web-only use, you do not need to provide any username or password. Its general format is the same as mentioned above.
For example,
net use T: \\NetShare\Test
Use net use with username and password to map a network drive
You need to provide a username and password using the command in this format. For example,
net use T: \\NetShare\Test /u:domain\username password
Mapping a network drive using net use automation
If you are looking for a format that will automatically concatenate, you should follow this command. For example,
net use T: \\NetShare\Test path /persistent:yes
Here, /persistent:yes
is a flag that provides automatic connection sharing at login.
You can notice that we are using T as the network driver mapping variable here.
All the methods discussed above are applicable to Windows CMD only.
