Adding parameters to onChange event in Vue

Author:JIYIK Last Updated:2025/02/28 Views:

In Vue, we often need to add onChangeevents to form elements to listen to user input and make corresponding processing. But sometimes we need to pass some parameters to the event to better handle user input. This article will introduce how to onChangeadd parameters to events in Vue and provide some precautions.

The steps to add parameters to the onChange event in Vue are as follows:

1. Define form elements and onChange events in the template

For example, we have an input box and a drop-down list, and we need to listen to their onChange events and pass a parameter to the event:

<template>
  <div>
    <input type="text" v-model="name" @change="handleInputChange(name)">
    <select v-model="gender" @change="handleSelectChange(gender)">
      <option value="male">Male</option>
      <option value="female">Female</option>
    </select>
  </div>
</template>

2. Define event handling functions in methods and receive parameters

<script>
export default {
  data() {
    return {
      name: '',
      gender: ''
    }
  },
  methods: {
    handleInputChange(name) {
      console.log('Name:', name)
    },
    handleSelectChange(gender) {
      console.log('Gender:', gender)
    }
  }
}
</script>

Note:

  1. @changeUse instead of in the template @input. Because @inputthe event is triggered every time an input is entered, while the @change event is triggered when the input box loses focus or the drop-down list option changes.
  2. When defining an event handling function, you must receive parameters and pass them to the function when the event is triggered. Otherwise, the parameters cannot be obtained.
  3. Use the passed parameters in the processing function and pay attention to the type of the parameters. For example, in the above example, name and gender are both string types.

Summarize:

Adding parameters to the onChange event in Vue allows us to better handle user input. Just use it in the template @change, define the event handling function in methods and receive the parameters. At the same time, you need to pay attention to the use of @changeinstead of @input, and use the passed parameters in the handling function and pay attention to the type of the parameters.
