Finding error logs in MySQL

In this article, we will learn how to find error logs in MySQL database.

Businesses and organizations must have access to error files in MySQL as it helps them to evolve and strengthen their database management system through efficient queries that can be optimized using error logs.

This log contains information about every error generated in our MySQL Workbench. Let's try to find this error log on our system.

We can do this with the help of the following steps.

Open MySQL Workbench and enter the password for the Root ID

MySQL WorkbenchWe can do this by typing in the Windows Search bar .

Once this is done, open MySQL Workbench and enter the password for the root id.

Find the file path of the error log

After successfully launching Workbench, we can use the following query to get all the system variables running on the device.

The following query in MySQL Workbench lets us view all system variables.

SHOW variables;

Now we find log_errorthe file path of the variable name.

As shown above, we have the file path. Then, we navigate to the file path on the device.
