In PostgreSQL, CASTa function converts a value of one data type to another. We can use it to extract the date from a timestamp.
select CAST ('2021-11-03 13:10:00' as date);
Output:
date

Another way to convert is to use the range resolution ::operator and the result type which is in this case date.
select '2021-11-03 13:10:00'::date;
Output:
