Author:JIYIK Last Updated:2025/04/13 Views:

phpinfo()is a built-in function in PHP which outputs all the information of PHP configuration on the local host. We have to phpinfo()create a PHP file with a simple function call.

Sometimes, the file may not work properly and output a 404 error. This tutorial shows how to get it up and running in PHP phpinfo().

Set the configuration to run on Localhostphpinfo()

Running on localhost phpinfo()is a simple task. Your local host should know how to run PHP files for this task.

Open the file from the localhost repository httpd.confand check if PHP is configured correctly. The configuration should look like this:

PHPIniDir "C:/php74"
AddHandler application/x-httpd-php .php
LoadModule php7_module "C:/PHP74/php7apache2_4.dll"

After setting the configuration, restart your localhost and then you can run phpinfo().

The above configuration is for apache localhost.

Use to phpinfo()display PHP configuration information

First, you have to create a file with the following code info.phpand run it on your localhost:

<?php
phpinfo();
?>

Simple phpinfo()will return all information about installed PHP.

phpinfo()It also accepts constant parameters to display detailed information. For example, INFO_CREDITSit will display the credit information of PHP.

example:

<?php
phpinfo(INFO_CREDITS);
?>

Other constants for which phpinfo()detailed information is obtained are as follows.

constant usage
INFO_GENERAL Displays general PHP information.
INFO_CONFIGURATION Display php.ini information.
INFO_ENVIRONMENT Display information about environment variables.
INFO_MODULES Display information about loaded modules.
INFO_VARIABLES Displays information about all predefined variables.

Put the constant as an argument to phpinfo()and run it to display the information.
