Shell script programming practice - specify a directory to delete files
Usually, in Linux system we need to frequently delete some temporary files or junk files. If we delete them one by one manually, it will be quite troublesome.
I have also been learning shell script programming recently, so I tried to write an application to delete files in a specified directory.
The functions of this script are:
First, specify the directory where the files to be deleted are located; then select the deletion method, whether to specify the exact file name, specify fuzzy deletion, or delete all files.
Below is the shell code written
#!/bin/bash
read -p "Please input the dir which you want to del file in:" dir
echo -e "Select type:\n p--precis\n r--reg\n a--all"
read identify
if [ $identify == 'p' ]; then
read -p "Please input filename" files
elif [ $identify == 'r' ]; then
read -p "Please input reg:" reg
files=`ls ${dir}/${reg}* `
elif [ $identify == 'a' ]; then
files=`ls ${dir}`
else
exit 0
fi
for file in $files
do
if [ -e ${file} ]; then
rm -f $file
fi
done
